Poetic Reflective Journaling: Why Would I or Did I Choose Easy?
Monique HarrisShare
Why Would I or Did I Choose Easy?
Because this is the first time in my life where easy was a choice!
And it feels good to have that option.
Why did I choose easy?
Why wouldn’t I choose easy?
Is easy a bad thing?
When you are conditioned to hard work- easy is a dream.
But now I’m considering that easy is often equated to lazy. And that can also be true sometimes.
And I’m considering the middle ground between easy and hard.
And maybe it’s not even "easy" that is attractive; it’s simplicity.
It’s like I can fully rest without demand or commands to do hard work again.
Maybe, the resting is what’s driving easy.
But the problem is being in a constant state of rest when I know there’s so much more work to be done.
Is that a real problem?
Or is being in a constant state of rest a form of trust in God?
What if easy is the by-product of rest?
We rest to work, not work to rest.
God worked from rest, then rested again.
God rested every day after creating; and rested all day on the seventh day.
To God what? Be the glory!
